Adopt Haidi (S. Korea) hz a White Jindo dog in Langley, BC (39501960)

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hello everyone. My name is Haidi and here is a little info about me:Breed: Jindo mixAge: 5 yearsGender: Female Weight: 43 lbHeight: 48 cmHighlight(s): Calm, Happy, rarely barkIt was the end of November 2021 when I was rescued from a dog meat farm and slaughter house. Before rescued, I was tied up to a heavy metal chain and forced to watch other dogs being slaughtered. I was immensely shocked. I was too scared. I ate my puppies as soon as I gave birth to them. After rescued, my rescuer weighed the metal chain. It was 1.7kg!!! When my rescuer removed my old collar, my skin around the neck was peeled off.I love all nice human friends. When they pet me, I feel so good. I hope it never ends. My rescuer said my smile is my best feature.I'm not very interested in playing with new dogs. I tend to briefly say hi and mind my own businesses. I'm a bit jealous when another dog is getting attention from my person. My appetite is high, with no resource guarding issues towards people but I can growl at other dogs if they come close. Best to feed me separately. I haven't shown any signs of separation anxiety, no car sickness and I rarely bark. A year ago, I showed aggression to 3 dogs among 70-80 dogs. I don't remember why I did that and nobody saw the moment. After I spent a lot of time around other dogs, I'm more comfortable around other dogs. Even though I've been doing well around other dogs, my handler thinks I'd be better in home that I'd be the only dog. Energy Level: I have a low energy level. I enjoy outdoor activities and like to rest/calm at home after walks. At a dog park, I don't like running. I walk around and after a while, I'd like to lie down and take a rest.During walks, I'm quite confident and curious. I'm not scared of passing cars, buses, and trucks.I'm very good at jumping into a car.I get along with:Dogs: yes but a home that I can be the only dog and get all the attention is preferred Cats: Unsure as I haven't met a cat yet. Kids: yesFears: Unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition.Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: Yes. Please be prepared to help me learn where to go in my new home.Health notes: I have been spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems. Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1752874##
