Adopt HELSINKI (Calif) KY a Black - with Brown, Red, Golden

Location:
Langley, BC
Description:

Hello!! My name is Helsinki . Here is some information about me:Breed: German Shepherd MixAge: 4 years oldGender: MaleWeight: 73 lbsHeight: 22 inchesI am a healthy, active four-year-old shepherd mix whose golden eyes will captivate you. I was found as a stray in August 2022 and have spend the last year and a half at the North Central LA Animal Shelter. I am a fun loving guy who loves the outdoors especially spending time playing fetch and going for dips in the kiddie pool. Outside of my playtime at the shelter, l I have been busy learning basic commands in obedience training through participation in the K9 Youth Alliance Program. I am a quick learner and already know lots of commands like stay, sit, and down, as well as tricks like walking on the teeter totter and climbing up into a chair and sitting calmly. My student handler and I were the stars of the graduation program last April. The organizers said I had "shown amazing progress and improvement from the training program." What can I say I am eager to learn and would love more than anything to be part of a loving family who will continue my training. I love to go on new adventures in the car and have been to mobile adoption events meeting new people. Sadly, I continually get overlooked despite my good looks and amazing qualities. I am trying to be patient while I wait but I am finding myself getting frustrated at having been locked up for so long. I really want more than anything to be part of an amazing family who will shower me with lots of love, exercise and structure. Fun fact about me: I LOVE string cheese!!!!. Energy Level: High I get along with: Dogs: Yes. Cats: UnknownKids: Yes Fears/Prey Drive/Resource Gaurding: None observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training : Basic Obedience training (stay, sit, down, weaving cones, some agility), leash training. Watch me in my Youth Obedience Program: https://youtube.com/shorts/lXdBwNUEt4A Leash Skills: Yes. Please be prepared to continue with my training.House trained: No. Please assist training me where to go in my new home. Health Notes: I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $800 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1899225##
