This is Rufus. He is a special needs cat. He is about 11 years old.He was cared for as an outdoor cat but his human had to go into special housing and leave Rufus behind. Eventually Rufus settled on my patio. He was in rough shape. He was a full male who was obviously fighting.• 2019 I took him to a TNR clinic where he was neutered and his various wounds tended to. • 2021 he had dental surgery & he tested positive for FIV • Fall 2023 he developed diabetes. I brought him inside so I could treat him.• Jan 2024: glucose was normal, diabetes in remission, no need for insulin. His diet is restricted just in case…He is a mouser! If is moves he will chase it until he catches it! He loves to play with a wand toy and he is VERY fast! He does not get along with other cats. He will not scratch but if you annoy him he may nip. Remember, he was an outdoor cat for years. He needs to be an only cat. He will sit on your lap or share a chair. When he sleeps he wheezes and snores!
