Adopt Millie a All Black Domestic Shorthair / Mixed cat in Georgina

This is Millie. She is one of the cats we rescued from the horrible barn situation in the spring. Millie has been diagnosed with FIV and unfortunately there is no cure for this virus. It is only transmitted to other felines and its typically through deep bite wounds. Millie only has one tooth which we presume the loss of teeth is from the virus. She also has chronic respiratory issues that are being managed by medication. Surprisingly, she loves to take her medicine because she gets a treat afterwards. The vet has advised not to spay Millie due to her upper respiratory issues. Luckily when she does go into heat it is very short and she is not loud. Typically, FIV+ cats can live a long life but with Millie's health issues we do not know her life expectancy. Besides all the obstacles Millie has faced, she is the sweetest girl you will ever meet! She loves to have all your attention and will follow you around until she gets it. Her favorite type of affection is face kisses. She loves to rub her face against yours, and it's honestly the cutest thing! She doesn't love to be picked up, but we are working on it, she will lay beside you for as long as you will let her. She has started to climb on our lap, but usually just to get our attention, then she sits again at your side. Millie is estimated to be at least 5 years old, but does she love to play. Anything she can bat around she's playing with! So far, she has done well with both wet food and small sizes dry food despite not having teeth! She is definitely a healthy eater!! And in all honesty, she gives the best bleps! Millie needs to be adopted into a home as a single cat or in a household with another cat that is FIV +.
