Pete Born so they said Oct 31st 2023 Such a sweet puppy and he is a PUPPY!! Learning boundaries with his puppy energy. He loves to wrestle with temporary brother Ed a 100 pound lab. They will play non stop till they drop. Ed does not treat his toys nicely so Pete really doesn't get much of a chance to know what a soft chew toy is. We have a mount of hard bones type toys. He loves to lay in a dog bed or on the couch next to you. He still has baby teeth his last vet visit for neuter he was 24 pounds, doc thinks he will be med in size maybe 40-50 pounds. He has lab fur and toes and perhaps a pit block head. All are guesses. Pete is potty trained and will ring the bells I have on my back door. He has been neutered and received all his vaccines needing one Lepto booster which he has an appointment for on April 3rd. He hates his kennel while nobody is home. He will bark bark bark. He will stay in there at night but recently he started sleeping in bed with me. He does get up around 3:30 am to go outside...its an out and in but its better than cleaning up a mess. We are a retired home and we are home a lot! So the kennel will be on an adopter to over come. In the yard...he loves to chew up sticks and dig in pots and around roots in the yard. I've had several puppies and this is typical puppy. if you don't want to go outside with a puppy when they go out then they will get into trouble. he loves to play with a tennis ball or the big jolly balls that we have. Petes story was he was attacked by another dog. He had a torn trachea and a broken cheek. He spent days in the ER and was transferred to a surgical center to get the tear repaired. He is a pup and healed very nicely. Pete has a good friend kitty known as Sparkle they play together and Pete gets a little rough with her but she goes up high to get away. I feel like he would be ok with cats but they may need to put him in his place till he figures it out he respects our old lady foster cat and she has no claws she let him know to back off. I have a three year granddaughter that is at my house through the week and Pete is good with her as she is good with him. He has gotten her a couple times with his puppy teeth playing but is learning as she is too. Not sure I like puppies and tiny babies together but would consider if I found the right spot. You want Pete to burn energy and a fenced in yard would be the best option for that unless you would have a dog friend for playing and walking. Seems like a lot about Pete's needs but they are important to me! Pete is important to me. We love him like he is ours and we are looking for the right spot. **All Shelter to Home animals are fully vetted per their age. We believe in pediatric spay and neuter. All animals will be spayed or neutered, tested for FIV/FeLV or heartworm, given age-appropriate boosters and rabies, dewormed, flea treated, and anything extra that is needed to give this animal a wonderful forever life in a permanent home.
