Helloooo everyone! My name is Ofelia and here's my story:PHYSICAL INFO: Breed: Labrador Retriever mix Age: 3 years 2 months approx. Gender: Female Weight: 55lbs (25 kg) Height (to head): 76cm Current Location: Guadalajara Mexico RESCUE STORY - I was discovered living a rough old life out on the streets of Tlajomulco, Mexico - with a few puppies in tow! I had made a home for myself outside of a gas station and was able to survive by scavenging and the occasional food offering I received. This was...okay...but what I really wanted was a family of my own (I really love hoomans, you see). One day some nice peoples decided to bring me and my one-month-old babies to a shelter, where I have remained ever since. While there, it was discovered that I had TVT, a type of cancer...however, I have since been treated and declared cancer free - YAY! Now my puppies have gone on to be adopted and I'm hoping it's finally my turn to find a furever family of my own. TEMPERAMENT - I am a very sweet and cuddly pup who has one great love in this life: TEDDY BEARS! Besides my absolute obsession with teddy bears, I really enjoy cuddles, hugs and kisses (from teddy bears or humans really) and my walkies. Even though I love long walkies I have the special trait of being a super calm pooch who is happy chilling indoors as well. ENERGY LEVEL - Low - ModerateGETS ALONG WITH: Kids – Unknown Dogs – Yep!! I get along just fine with other dogs . Cats – Eek no thank you! PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around cats/squirrels/rabbits etc. My adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.TRAINING: Leash skills – My rescuers say I am doing well with my leash skills, however I may need some additional patience and training. House trained – My rescuer says I am okay with this but I may need some additional training and patience. Crate trained – My rescuer says I am very good with this but I may need some additional training and patience. Car rides – I am working on being comfortable getting into a car by myself but once inside I'm pretty good (this may still require some training and patience). Please Note: WCP Dog Rescue partners with Unleashed Dog Training (Hannah Swain) to offer adopters one training session at a rate of $25. Any subsequent sessions will be offered at a rate of $50. WCP also highly encourages adopters to do some research and training on their own before their dog arrives. HEALTH NOTES: I am spayed and vaccinated. NOTE: dogs from Guadalajara are not microchipped. NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.
