Avery was surrendered to our care because her previous family moved to a home with stairs. Avery is blind, deaf and has orthopedic issues. That may sound like a lot, but she is truly the most resilient girl. Avery is a staff favourite and is super playful, goofy and cuddly. She will do just about anything for a treat and has the cutest pep in her step. Avery likes to walk and enjoys the outdoors, but also appreciates a comfy nap.Due to her visual and hearing impairment she can be reactive and lunge when meeting new people or dogs. It’s important her adopter takes things slow for introductions. Avery needs consistency and to feel safe in these situations. Dog Tales will provide her family with training before and after she is adopted to ensure a smooth transition. Her family would need to visit frequently to get to know each other.Avery’s ideal home would be quiet with no children. She can potentially live with a social, non-confrontational dog. They would need to meet several times to ensure they get along.
